CREATE '22

CREATE '22 – ‘a quest for startups’, aims to nurture young entrepreneurs by enabling them with all the right tools to succeed in the market today. A tradition started in PIEAS since 2014; the activity is managed the Business Incubation Center (BIC), Office of Research Innovation and commercialization (ORIC). For the past several years, it has been providing young startups with a platform to share their ideas and get enough funds to build it into a success story. The participating teams will be competing for their startups, aiming to bag worth Rs 100,000/- awards. This year we aim to help more teams benefit from this platform. Initially, some mentoring sessions will be held and the teams would submit their bussiness aideas. The selected teams will be invited for the final pitching competition, along with unprecedented exposure and mentoring opportunities.

Tech Entrepreneurship

Technology entrepreneurship is defined by not simply the use of technology but the creation of it. Any type of entrepreneur uses technology others have already made to launch their own products. A technology entrepreneur, however, invents new technology or builds upon an existing one to make it better. The technology is the product! Tech entrepreneurship is the development of products for those who use any form of technology. Many startups try to address the problems faced by previous generations with the latest emerging technology. So many processes can be cut short now or sped-up with tech such as cloud computing or the availability of open-source software, which allows for many products to be made in shorter period, and within lowered budget.

Social Entrepreneurship

Social Entrepreneurship is the use of techniques to develop, fund and implement solutions to social, cultural, or environmental issues. They often reduce needs and can generally be classified as • Economic development and empowerment, financial literacy & poverty elevation
• Education
• Environmental sustainability and climate change mitigation
• Food access, sustainable food system and hunger relief
• Health, public health, healthcare accessibility and wellness
• Micro-finance, micro-credit, and micro-landing
• Social justice, justice, and human rights
• Women empowerment and women rights
